Notifications and Sanctions
The Athletics Integrity Unit team carries out its activities transparently so that all members of the athletics family - whether they be athletes, support members, administrators or fans - can gain a clear understanding of the work the AIU does to promote a clean sport. The Athletics Integrity Unit will publish all decisions and sanctions, whether they relate to an athlete, coach or any other member of the athletics community. We will also post decisions made by other bodies which might have an impact on our sport and athletes, such as decisions made by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
Current Ineligible and Sanctioned Athletes: CAS Decisions
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) is the highest independent authority in international sport that settles disputes through arbitration. CAS settles not just doping cases (in accordance with World Anti-Doping Code rules), but other integrity-related matters in which there has been an asserted breach of the rules.
Interested parties in cases, including athletes, support persons, or sport organisations, can appeal initial decisions to CAS, which has the ultimate authority for determining the outcome of such cases.
Recent CAS decisions concerning athletes that have committed violations of IAAF rules, along with CAS decisions from other sports, can be found on the CAS website.
